Murdered Ballarat mother Samantha Murphy's husband charged with her murder

Victoria Police will allege the murder of missing Ballarat mother Samantha Murphy was a deliberate act that occurred on the day she was last seen alive. On Tuesday, detectives charged Ms Murphy’s husband, Brendan Ihle, 42, with one count of murder.
Police said they were conducting a targeted search in the Ballarat area. Officers were seen scouring bushland in the Canadian area, east of the city, on Tuesday.
“The search is expected to continue for a number of days as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Ms Murphy’s death,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
