Another Earthquake Strikes Turkey, Rescuers Search for Trapped Survivors

Rescuers are once again searching for people trapped under rubble in Turkey after another earthquake hit the country on Monday. The magnitude 6.4 quake struck the southern province of Hatay, which was already devastated by a powerful earthquake earlier this month. The quake has reportedly caused widespread damage and killed at least three people.

The earthquake struck at 8:04 p.m. local time (1:04 p.m. ET) and was centered near the city of Defne. It was felt as far away as Syria, Lebanon, and Israel. The quake caused buildings to collapse and triggered landslides. Rescue workers are using heavy machinery to search for survivors, but the ongoing aftershocks are making their efforts difficult.

The quake is the latest in a series of powerful earthquakes that have hit Turkey in recent weeks. On February 6, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck central Turkey and Syria, killing more than 46,000 people. The quake was followed by hundreds of aftershocks, many of which have caused further damage and loss of life.

The Turkish government has declared a state of emergency in the affected regions and has deployed thousands of rescue workers to the area. The government has also appealed for international assistance, and several countries have already sent aid teams to Turkey.
