Inter Ceo Beppe Marotta Insists Achraf Hakimis Impending Move To Paris Saint Germain Can Still Collapse

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta insists Achraf Hakimi's impending move to Paris Saint-Germain can still collapse

Inter consider Emerson Royal and Hector Bellerin as Achraf Hakimi replacements

Chelsea enter the race for Lautaro Martinez with transfer fee set at £77m

As talk of Achraf Hakimi joining Paris Saint-Germain continues to dominate the headlines, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has admitted that the deal could still fall through.

The Morocco international has been heavily linked with a switch to the French capital, with reports suggesting that he is close to agreeing on personal terms with PSG.

However, Marotta has now thrown a spanner in the works by claiming that the deal is not yet complete. He said: "The agreement with PSG is not done yet. There are ongoing contacts, but there is no agreement."

Marotta's comments will come as a boost to Inter fans, who will be desperate to keep hold of one of their most prized assets.

Hakimi has been a key player for Inter since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2020, and he was instrumental in their Serie A triumph last season.

The Nerazzurri are understood to be demanding a fee in the region of £60m for Hakimi, and it remains to be seen whether PSG are willing to meet that asking price.

Meanwhile, Inter are already planning for life without Hakimi, with Emerson Royal and Hector Bellerin both being linked with moves to the San Siro.

Emerson Royal is currently on loan at Real Betis from Barcelona, while Bellerin is surplus to requirements at Arsenal.

In other transfer news, Chelsea have reportedly entered the race for Lautaro Martinez, with the Blues said to be willing to pay £77m for the Argentine striker.

Martinez has been in impressive form for Inter this season, scoring 17 goals in all competitions.

However, the Nerazzurri are thought to be open to selling the 23-year-old this summer, as they look to balance their books.

Chelsea are one of several clubs who are interested in signing Martinez, with Barcelona and Real Madrid also said to be keen on the forward.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be able to beat their rivals to the signing of Martinez, but the Blues are certainly in the running for the Argentine.
